Exercise Science BS - Pre-Health Professions Concentration
Students in the Pre-Health Professions concentration develop a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, exercise physiology, neuroscience, exercise assessment and prescription, and nutrition through rigorous coursework. The science-based curriculum prepares graduates to work with individuals across the lifespan to promote healthy lifestyle changes through basic interventions and referrals. Graduates are well prepared to pass a national certification exam, such as the ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP) or the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with faculty on ongoing research projects. The BS in Exercise Science – Pre-Health concentration is suited for students who plan to apply to health professional programs, such as medical school (MD), osteopathic medicine (DO), chiropractic (DC), physician’s assistant (PA), and dental medicine (DDS/DMD).
